Baseball Recap: Leadership Comes Up Short

Leadership had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 2-6 to make it four. They lost 14-5 to the KIPP King Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against KIPP King this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-8 back in April.

As for KIPP King, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games.

For KIPP King's part, Gabriel Acevedo was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Acevedo has been hot for a while, having posted two or more stolen bases the last 12 times he's played. Juan Huerta was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

As of now, neither Leadership nor KIPP King have any future games scheduled.
