Volleyball Recap: Wiley Takes a Loss

After flying high against Walsh on Friday, Wiley came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Kit Carson Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Wiley started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-12, 15-12.

Wiley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Kit Carson, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-12.

Looking ahead, Wiley will challenge Kim/Branson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kit Carson, they will head out to square off against La Veta at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
