Recap: Monticello Billies vs. Star City Bulldogs
The Monticello Billies''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past Star City 35-7 at home. For Monticello, this counts as revenge for the 56-21 defeat Star City walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Monticello can attribute much of their success to Jontavion Jackson, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Tejon Tensley did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards.
Monticello is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Star City, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-10.
Monticello will be playing in front of their home fans against Crossett at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crossett is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. Star City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
