Basketball Recap: Labelle Makes It Six in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for LaBelle, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 79-64 win over the Everglades City Gators on Friday.

LaBelle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Giovanni Beaver out in front who went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Beaver a new career-high in steals. Arrie Davis Jr. was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

LaBelle was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

LaBelle's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Everglades City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

LaBelle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-32 victory against Clewiston on the 7th. As for Everglades City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-25 win against Mason Classical Academy on the 7th.
