Softball Recap: Cross Lanes Christian Comes Up Short

Cross Lanes Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 10-7 to make it four. They lost 10-2 to the Tolsia Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Warriors have suffered since April 10th.

Cross Lanes Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cassidy Witt, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run. Witt has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

As for Tolsia, they now have a winning record of 11-10. Considering they have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

On Tolsia's side, Kalynn Salmons made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Salmons was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Keira Maynard was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Kendra Maynard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Cross Lanes Christian will venture away from home to face off against West Carter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tolsia, they will face off against Van at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.08 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
