Evergreen hasn't had much luck against Cedarcrest recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wolverines will host the Red Wolves at 4:00 p.m. Evergreen will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Lindbergh hit Evergreen with a nine-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines lost 15-5 to the Eagles.

Evergreen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wilder Amechazurra, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Amechazurra has become a key player for the Wolverines: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-8-1 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Cedarcrest put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's sixth consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let Renton get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. Considering the Red Wolves have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Carter Smith and Jake Polacek made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Smith tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Polacek struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. At the plate, Smith went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Polacek went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Smith has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Reed Gilmore was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Liam DelCarmen was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Cedarcrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .609. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Renton only posted an OBP of .235.
Cedarcrest's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Evergreen, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Evergreen has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cedarcrest struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Evergreen might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Cedarcrest when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
