Softball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Lincoln and Rochester meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Railsplitters fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Railsplitters have suffered against the Rockets since May 4, 2018.

Lincoln has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Rochester, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln will head out to face off against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rochester, they will take on Taylorville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
