Basketball Recap: Biggsville West Central Comes Up Short

Biggsville West Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 67-19 defeat at the hands of the Mercer County Golden Eagles. The Heat lost against the Golden Eagles in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 56-41 score last time.

Reegan Shafer was Biggsville West Central's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Alivia Price held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Biggsville West Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mercer County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Biggsville West Central will take on Camp Point Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Mercer County, they will square off against ROWVA/Williamsfield at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
