Basketball Game Preview: Motley County Matadors vs. Valley Patriots

Motley County is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 45-25 to Patton Springs.

Meanwhile, Valley waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They had just enough and edged the Bulldogs out 48-45. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 566th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 games, which provided a nice bump to their 28-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Motley County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.

Motley County took a serious blow against Valley in their previous matchup on January 14th, falling 81-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Valley's Trinity Schlueter, who almost dropped a triple-double on 28 points, ten boards, and nine steals.
