Volleyball Recap: Duquoin Falls Short of Massac County in the Playoffs

DuQuoin and Massac County squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but DuQuoin had to settle for second. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The defeat continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost four in a row.

Jade Wood paced DuQuoin's offense, picking up seven kills. Wood got some help from Aleiya King and her ten assists. Finally, Addi Funk kept DuQuoin's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Among those leading the charge was Natalie Evans, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave her a new career-high.

DuQuoin's loss dropped their record down to 15-20. As for Massac County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-5 record this season.

DuQuoin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Massac County, they will take on Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
