Marcellus and Comstock are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Colts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Marcellus had taken Hartford down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Wildcats came up short against the Indians, falling 11-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered against the Indians since May 11, 2023.

Cale Hackenberg made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Comstock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lawrence.

Isaiah Andrews was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Wilkins, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Marcellus' loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Comstock, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14-1.

Marcellus beat Comstock 10-6 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
