Basketball Recap: Hays-Lodge Pole Comes Up Short

Hays-Lodge Pole was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks and fell 64-29. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thunder Birds of the 83-29 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Hays-Lodge Pole's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Chester-Joplin-Inverness, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hays-Lodge Pole will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rocky Boy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Chester-Joplin-Inverness also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Shelby at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Chester-Joplin-Inverness is facing Shelby at the right time seeing as Shelby is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
