Basketball Recap: Webster Warriors vs. Central Braves
The Webster Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 63-48 bruising from Central. Webster has struggled against the Braves recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Webster's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Franklin, who scored nine points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Hondo Avington, who scored 13 points.
Webster dropped their record down to 3-16 with that defeat, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.
Webster does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central will head out on the road to face off against the Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McLain Science & Tech presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Braves in Oklahoma (the Titans are ranked 18th, while the Braves are ranked 141st).
