Softball Recap: Hayden Comes Up Short

Hayden fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mogollon on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 14-13. The defeat continues a trend for the Lobos in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Mianah Bravo led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Yvana Waddell, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Hayden's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Mogollon, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Hayden didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 defeat against Florence on the 21st. As for Mogollon, they have also already played their next contest, a 19-2 loss against St. Johns on the 22nd.
