Basketball Game Preview: Concordia Mustangs vs. Bishop Neumann Cavaliers

The Concordia Mustangs will challenge the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Concordia will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Concordia really took it to Gross Catholic for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-29 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 28 points or more this season.

Bishop Neumann has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 67-60 to Buena Vista on Tuesday. The game was a 26-26 toss-up at halftime, but the Cavaliers couldn't quite close it out.

Bishop Neumann's loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4. As for Concordia, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Concordia took their win against Bishop Neumann when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 53-32. Will Concordia repeat their success, or does Bishop Neumann have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
