Soccer Game Preview: Coronado vs. Pebble Hills

The Coronado Thunderbirds will challenge the Pebble Hills Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Coronado: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Pebble Hills has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Coronado got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They beat Franklin by a goal, winning 3-2. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but the Thunderbirds were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Pebble Hills kept a clean sheet against Franklin on Friday. They blew past the Cougars 4-0. Considering the Spartans have won six games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Pebble Hills is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up four goals over those nine contests. As for Coronado, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
