Volleyball Recap: Omaha Westside Takes Down Ranked Norwalk

Omaha Westside is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Norwalk. Omaha Westside narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Norwalk 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for Omaha Westside.

Omaha Westside had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-16, 15-9.

Makenzie Wingett paced Omaha Westside's offense, picking up 13 kills. Wingett got some help from Kherington Snider and her 17 assists. Wingett was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Omaha Westside's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Norwalk, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 19-9.

Omaha Westside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Xavier on the 11th. Norwalk does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
