Football Recap: Sherwood Marksmen vs. Warsaw Wildcats

After flying high against Cole Camp last Friday, Sherwood came back down to earth. The Sherwood Marksmen had to suffer through a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Warsaw Wildcats. The Marksmen haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Jake Kanzler threw for 90 yards on eight of 14 attempts. Luke Mainard was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards. On the ground, Eli Ferrell rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Josh Harvath continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Warsaw, rushing for 92 yards on only eight carries.

Sherwood's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Warsaw, the win for them keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Sherwood will take on Pleasant Hope/Halfway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Sherwood focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday. As for Warsaw, they will square off against Versailles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warsaw's defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so Versailles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
