Volleyball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes vs. Monmouth-Roseville Titans
Abingdon/Avon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monmouth-Roseville Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tornadoes of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.
Taylor Hendel paced Abingdon/Avon's offense, picking up six kills. Hendel got some help from Miya Alderson and her 11 assists. Emily Wallace controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Monmouth-Roseville can attribute much of their success to Brenda Raigoza, who had ten digs and two aces.
Abingdon/Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Monmouth-Roseville, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.
