Softball Recap: Masuk Panthers vs. New Milford Green Wave
Masuk won the last time they faced New Milford and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Green Wave by a score of 7-2. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Julia Bacoulis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Ely, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Josie Lieto also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
