Softball Recap: Masuk Makes It 15 in a Row on the Road

Masuk won the last time they faced New Milford and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Green Wave by a score of 7-2. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Julia Bacoulis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Ely, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Josie Lieto also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Masuk's win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for New Milford, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Masuk didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 31-5 win against Stratford on the 23rd. As for New Milford, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-1 victory against Notre Dame Prep on the 23rd.
