Softball Recap: Shepherd Drops Highest Score of Season Against St. Louis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shepherd). They were the clear victors by a 16-8 margin over the St. Louis Sharks on Wednesday. The Bluejays haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

MeKahna Seeley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and six unearned) runs on seven hits. The game marked her first with multiple earned runs this season.

On the hitting side, Elise McDonald was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Morgan Bloniarczyk, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Shepherd was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Shepherd back to even at 3-3. As for St. Louis, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Shepherd beat the Sharks by a score of 25-11 later that day.
