Baseball Recap: Lake Park Victorious

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Lake Park and Wheaton-Warrenville South had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Lancers skirted past the Tigers 4-2. The game was the first time the Lancers have beaten the Tigers on their field since May 9, 2023.

Patrick St. John tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Lake Park's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 7-3 (and 8-9 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Josh Kolton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Lake Park's record is now 15-12. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-14.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lake Park is set to square off against their familiar foe St. Charles North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Wheaton-Warrenville South will take on rival Batavia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
