Basketball Recap: Shaw Takes a Loss

Shaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the South Rebels, falling 57-22. The Cardinals lost against the Rebels in their previous head to head back in February of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-45 score last time.

Shaw's loss came despite strong showings from Kyra Smith-Goard and Tynya Jackson. Smith-Goard posted six points, while Jackson scored five points.

Shaw's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Shaw wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-44 defeat against Garfield Heights on the 14th. As for South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-29 loss against Villa Angela-St. Joseph on the 16th.
