Baseball Game Preview: Coolidge Colts vs. Ballou Knights

The Coolidge Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Ballou Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Coolidge and four for Ballou dating back to last season.

Coolidge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Eastern, who was ranked fourth at the time (Coolidge was ranked tenth). The Colts lost 9-3 to the Ramblers on Friday.

Isaac Sanders was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Darnell Allen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Ballou unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Eastern back in March, falling 19-0.

Coolidge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Ballou, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
