Soccer Recap: Northeast Takes a Loss

Northeast came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Trigg County Wildcats, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Northeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 172nd in Tennessee, while Trigg County are ranked 44th in Kentucky).

Northeast now has a losing record of 3-4-1. As for Trigg County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3-1.

Looking ahead, Northeast will host Logan County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trigg County, they are taking a road trip to face off against Fort Campbell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trigg County will be up against Fort Campbell's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.5 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
