Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Rosewood

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Rosewood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past Wayne Christian with a 71-65 win. The victory almost wasn't to be: Rosewood was down 43-25 in the third quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rosewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Darius Davis, who went 7-for-14 en route to 25 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxson Waters, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 20 points.

Rosewood was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

The win (which was Rosewood's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.7 points this season. As for Wayne Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rosewood will head out to take on Goldsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wayne Christian, they will venture away from home to challenge Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
