Basketball Game Preview: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles vs. Cedar Shoals Jaguars

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Cedar Shoals Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing East Hall: they outscored them in every quarter. Rabun Gap-Nacoochee came out on top against East Hall by a score of 61-49 on Friday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee found their leader in sophomore Blanca Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards. Martinez has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Inga Patrzalek, who posted six points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-26, which was the final score in Cedar Shoals' tilt against North Oconee on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 326th, while the Titans are ranked sixth).

Cedar Shoals dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
