Casey County had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Burgin Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted since March 24th.

Casey County's win bumped their record up to 12-17. As for Burgin, they moved to 5-13 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Casey County will take on Russell County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burgin, they will head out to face off against Cornerstone Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone Christian Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75 runs per game on average), something Burgin will no doubt try to take advantage of.
