Baseball Recap: William Penn Gets the Win

William Penn's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the York County Tech Spartans by a score of 10-5. For the Bearcats, this counts as revenge for the 18-3 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Eduardo Negron tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Abel Flores was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Cruz, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

William Penn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

William Penn's record is now 3-7. As for York County Tech, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. William Penn will take on Central York at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for York County Tech, they will face off against Delone Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
