Basketball Game Preview: Floyd Central Highlanders vs. Corydon Central Panthers

The Floyd Central Highlanders will square off against the Corydon Central Panthers at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Floyd Central is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Assumption, who was ranked fifth in their home state at the time (Floyd Central was ranked eighth). The Highlanders took a hard 56-41 fall against the Rockets on Wednesday. The Highlanders' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Corydon Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They took down North Harrison 59-41 on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Corydon Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Floyd Central, their loss dropped their record down to 18-3.

Floyd Central beat Corydon Central 57-50 in their previous meeting back in January of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Highlanders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
