            The Pottsville Crimson Tide will face off against the Tamaqua Blue Raiders at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
Pottsville fought the good fight in their extra-innings  matchup against Tri-Valley  on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  7-6. The Crimson Tide have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Alan Kushwarra was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with two  RBI and one  double.  Harrison Ciavarella also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
Meanwhile, Tamaqua waltzed into their contest  on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   3-2 W against the Panthers.
 Jake Yenser made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Those  two  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.
 Yenser wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Mason Ligenza, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 Tamaqua's win was  their sixth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-1. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Pottsville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
