Baseball Recap: Muir Beats Pasadena for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Muir waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Pasadena Bulldogs by a score of 9-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Mustangs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Conrad Hunziker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Fletcher Paddock, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kahlil Rishwain, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Muir kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Muir pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pasadena, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-13-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Muir by a score of 10-1 on Tuesday.
