Soccer Recap: Guyer Falls Short Against Ranked Marcus

On Friday, Guyer faced Marcus in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Guyer Wildcats fell just short of the Marcus Marauders by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were probably out for revenge after losing 2-1 to them when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Their goal came courtesy of Makayla Wilson, who's now up to four this season.

Guyer's loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1. As for Marcus, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-1-3 record this season.

Guyer will square off against Little Elm at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Guyer's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Marcus, they will take on Flower Mound at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Marcus sitting on four straight wins and Flower Mound on three.
