Recap: Catholic Central Sabers vs. Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs
The Catholic Central Sabers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Grand Traverse Academy with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 46-31. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Catholic Central also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2018.
When it comes to explaining why Grand Traverse Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Weston Kinney. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Kinney scored 15 or more points.
Catholic Central's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Catholic Central will take on Baldwin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Baldwin's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests. Grand Traverse Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Brethren at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
