Softball Recap: Normal University Takes a Loss

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Normal University was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 9-2 to the Lincoln Railsplitters. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Railsplitters apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Normal University saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lola Phillips, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Normal University's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Coming up, Normal University will square off against Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to take on Tri-City at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tornadoes will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Railsplitters surely won't give up without a fight.
