Basketball Recap: Gabe Moore Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Shipley

Friends' Central won the last time they faced Shipley and things went their way on Friday too. Friends' Central enjoyed a cozy 65-51 victory over Shipley. Given Friends' Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Shipley is ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Friends' Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gabe Moore, who posted 19 points in addition to eight boards and five assists. Moore's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Pat Feamster, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.

Several Shipley players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Henry Rassmussen, who earned seven points along with seven boards and six assists. Rassmussen has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Danilo Linsalata was another key player, going 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Friends' Central and bumps their season record up to 8-11. As for Shipley, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Friends' Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-47 loss against Friends Select on the 21st. As for Shipley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-59 defeat against Germantown Friends on the 22nd.
