Basketball Recap: Rock Hill Bearcats vs. South Florence Bruins
Rock Hill had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 66-54 victory over the South Florence Bruins.
Chloe Hudson was a one-man wrecking crew for Rock Hill as she dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Hudson also racked up nine threes, the most she's had since back in November of 2023. Aubrey Stevenson was another key player, scoring ten points in addition to six assists and three steals.
Rock Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Florence only posted five.
Despite the loss, South Florence saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Harmony Bostick dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Allyson Watson, who posted six points in addition to five rebounds.
Rock Hill has already played their next game, an 80-18 win against Lugoff-Elgin on the 23rd. As for South Florence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-30 victory against Silver Bluff on the 23rd.
