Volleyball Game Preview: Tularosa Wildcats vs. New Mexico Military Institute Colts

The Tularosa Wildcats will challenge the New Mexico Military Institute Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tularosa will be strutting in after a win while New Mexico Military Institute will be coming in after a loss.

Tularosa took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Dexter, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats won by a set and slipped past the Demons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since September 17, 2024.

Tularosa was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (110-106), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 20-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Meanwhile, New Mexico Military Institute came up short against Ruidoso on Saturday and fell 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Colts in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost nine in a row.

New Mexico Military Institute was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Ruidoso work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 27-25, 19-25, 25-20.

New Mexico Military Institute's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Tularosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
