Basketball Game Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Longmont Trojans

The Horizon Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Longmont Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Horizon is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Arvada West on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Horizon took a blow against Arvada West, falling 55-23. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.

Bella Alvarado was Horizon's leading scorer, having posted six points. Gabby Newble held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Longmont). They claimed a resounding 65-37 win over Silver Creek. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their 24-point performance the matchup before.

Longmont's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Horizon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.
