Volleyball Game Preview: Algoma Wolves vs. Sevastopol Pioneers + Official Tickets

Algoma is 2-8 against Sevastopol since October of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m.

Algoma is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 4th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Southern Door.

While Algoma was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Southern Door's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Sevastopol can bid farewell to their four-match losing streak thanks to their match on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Gibraltar. The Pioneers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Sevastopol took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-15.

Sevastopol now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Algoma, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Algoma couldn't quite get it done against Sevastopol in their previous meeting last Saturday as they fell 2-0. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
