Baseball Recap: Monrovia Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Monrovia unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Indian Creek Braves on Monday, falling 23-11. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost three in a row.

Zach Oliphant was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monrovia will square off against Speedway at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Indian Creek, they will take on Whiteland in a tournament on Tuesday.
