The Bangs Dragons will head out to challenge the Colorado Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bangs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Bangs' defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Texas Leadership Charter Academy - Abilene 71-0. Among those leading the charge was Hunter Withers, who threw for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (160.4). Brennan Mendieta also helped with two TDs in total.
Bangs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 198 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Bangs didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cason Tidwell, Mendieta, and Connor Bible picked up one apiece. Tidwell is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Colorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Grape Creek, falling 40-7.
Bangs will have to contain Jadon Reyna as he made an impact in Colorado's last game. He picked up 76 receiving yards and one score. Reyna got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 55 yards.
The victory got Bangs back to even at 2-2. As for Colorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Bangs has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 231.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Colorado, though, as they've been averaging only 94.5 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Bangs and Colorado were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but Bangs suffered an agonizing 37-36 loss. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
