Basketball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Comes Up Short

If Juan Diego Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 59-31 takedown of East on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Soaring Eagle fell 54-44 to the Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Soaring Eagle of the 65-39 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Judge Memorial Catholic found their leader in sophomore Lyv Candilora, who posted 20 points and three steals. The Bulldogs are 2-1 when Candilora posts 15 or more points, but 1-4 otherwise. Maddie Daw was another key player, putting up ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Juan Diego Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Juan Diego Catholic will head out to challenge Murray at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, they have already played their next game, a 50-34 win against Skyline on the 13th.
