Recap: Bruce Trojans vs. Walnut Wildcats
The Bruce Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Walnut 80-29. Bruce was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-18.
Bruce's loss came despite strong showings from A'toria Knox and Laken Corbitt. Knox scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 steals, while Corbitt scored 16 points. The contest was Corbitt's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
The last time Bruce won on the road was back back in November. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 2-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.7 points per game. As for Walnut, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Bruce will be playing in front of their home fans against Vardaman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Walnut, they will head out on the road to face off against Alcorn Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
