Soccer Recap: Chestatee Takes a Loss

There was early excitement for Chestatee after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Gainesville Red Elephants who were credited with the victory. The Gainesville Red Elephants got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Chestatee War Eagles' zero. Chestatee haven't had much luck with Gainesville recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Chestatee's goal came courtesy of Reyna Palacios, who's now up to four this season.

Chestatee's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Gainesville, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chestatee will head out to face off against Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chestatee's defense better be ready for this one: Gilmer have averaged an impressive 3.2 goals per game this season. As for Gainesville, they will venture away from home to take on Milton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
