Basketball Recap: Wheatley Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

Wheatley had won nine straight home games dating back to last season and Caria Thomas did her part to make it ten on Wednesday. The Wheatley Wildcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Kashmere Fighting Rams 81-13 thanks in part to Thomas, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals. Thomas is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Mykel Henderson was another key player, putting up seven points along with six steals and five assists. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Wheatley's record now sits at 15-2. As for Kashmere, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheatley will square off against North Forest at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Wheatley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Kashmere, they will venture away from home to take on Worthing at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
