Volleyball Recap: Lowell Falls Short Against Ranked North Branch

Lowell faced North Branch in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Red Arrows took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Broncos. The loss continues a trend for the Red Arrows in their meetings with the Broncos: they've now lost three in a row.

Alison Smith paced Lowell's offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Rylie Barriger and her 11 assists. Annalise Clark controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

North Branch found their leader in sophomore Haley Henry, who had eight digs and two aces.

Lowell's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4-1. As for North Branch, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-2.

Lowell has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Mercy on the 20th. As for North Branch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Northview on the 20th.
