Basketball Recap: Greensboro Raiders vs. Greene County Tigers
The Greensboro Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight defeat. They fell 44-31 to Greene County. Greensboro was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Lester Scott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Greene County, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Scott has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Bullock, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Greensboro's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Greene County, their win bumped their record up to 5-20.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greensboro is on the road again on Monday and plays the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. As for Greene County, they will challenge the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Tigers in Alabama (the Rams are ranked 166th, while the Tigers are ranked 370th).
