            Softball Preview: Ray Ray Jays vs. Divide County Maroons        
        
		
        
        
            The Ray Ray Jays will venture away from home to  face off against the Divide County Maroons  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Ray is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6  runs per game  this season.
Monday just wasn't the day for Ray's offense. They fell just short of Bottineau by a score of  1-0 on Monday. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Ray Jays in their meetings with the Braves/Stars: they've now lost three in a row.

  Brinlee Cancade spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.
 Meanwhile, Divide County was not able to break out of their rough patch  two weeks ago as the team picked up their sixth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They lost  25-9 to Rugby.
 Having lost for the first time  this season, Ray  fell to 4-1. As for Divide County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Ray took their  victory against Divide County  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ray Jays since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
