Softball Recap: Hobart Has No Trouble Against Hammond Central

Hobart never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over the Hammond Central Wolves. That looming 19-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Brickies yet this season.

Addisyn Johnson was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addi Gaffin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Hobart and bumps their season record up to 12-14. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Hammond Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Hobart does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hammond Central, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-0 defeat against Griffith on the 22nd.
